Michael Kuan

Michael Kuan is the Founder and Chairman of Kuan Capital, an international investment and asset management firm based in Shanghai, China. Prior to establishing Kuan Capital in 2013, he was a Co-founder of CyberCity Investment and SIG Capital and was a partner of GGV Capital.

Born in China and educated in the United States, Michael’s investment career spans over thirty years – starting in 1986 as a venture capitalist in Silicon Valley.  He returned to China in 1992 to become one of the pioneering investors in TMT, Internet, Education, Energy and Biotech Industries.

Michael has invested and played key roles in some of China’s most successful ventures, which include Quantech Electronics, China.com, Sina.com, Liming Networks, China Cable Networks, Grandhope Biotech and Hippo Animation.  Kuan Capital is also an investor in Anchor Pacific Capital, RedBird Capital and Singularity University in United States.

Michael was also the co-author of InvestAmerica (1989), an investment guide for foreign investors seeking US investment opportunities. He was the 2006 commencement speaker at Pepperdine University and has served as a board member of a number of private and publicly traded companies in the US, China and Hong Kong. Additionally, Michael serves as a founding council member of TEDx Global.

Guobin Wang

Guobin is the Chairman of Orient Securities Asset Management Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Orient Securities Limited. Established as the first securities asset management company approved by China Securities Regulatory Commission, Orient Securities Asset Management Company Limited provides both asset management services and products for institutions and individuals. In 2015, assets under management (mutual funds, collective plan, directional plan and asset back securities) exceed 100 billion.

Guobin earned his master’s degree in economics from Peking University and EMBA from China Europe International Business School. As the first generation of professional investors, Guobin has contributed to the investment industry for more than 20 years. In the book “Theory of investment worldwide excellent Chinese investors interview records”, Guobin is rewarded as “one of the first batch of veteran” and is described as “years going through industry ups and downs, the earliest transform, always hold on to the front, best performance, stable team and high industry reputation ”.

In 2006 Guobin was awarded Shanghai’s Top 10 Outstanding Youth in Finance Industry and Shanghai Top 10 Outstanding Youth in 2007.

Anton Qiu

Mr. Anton Qiu is a partner of Kuanroad Capital. Mr. Qiu is also a co-founder of Anchor Pacific Capital and a managing partner of APC US Core Fund I, both are based in San Francisco. Anton has been an active angel investor in Silicon Valley. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of San Francisco – Shanghai Sister City Committee, a former Executive Managing Director of one of the largest commercial real estate firms in Northern California (he has nearly 30 years of experience in commercial real estate in United States and was involved in commercial real estate transactions valued at close to $2 billion dollars). Mr. Qiu was a former director of The Pacific Bank, NA, a public listed bank on NASDAQ, he was also a former director of Greater-San Francisco Real Estate Association and a former director of Chinese American Real Estate Association of America. Mr. Qiu was a guest-lecturer in UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Overseas Education College in the past. Mr. Qiu is a frequent guest-commentator in many US main-stream newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations regarding commercial real estate market activities. He has also written articles in many North America and Hong Kong magazines and newspapers for the similar topics.

Monica MO

Monica Mo holds a Master of Economics Diploma from Shan’xi Institute of Finance and Economics. Her professional experience stretches over different outstanding financial organization such as Management Institute of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi International Investment and Trust Corporation, International Business division of Haitong Securities, Guotai Junan Securities Co., Ltd. and Kuan Capital Holdings Limited.

Monica has a great sense of the Chinese capital market as well as reliable networks in these certain criteria due to her long term experience at Guotai Junan Securitie (Fixed income division).

During her time at Guotai Junan Securitie, Monica has served as Director of the Committee of merchant banking, Director of the Committee of capital investments, Committee of experts Securities Association and Assistant Secretary General of China National Debt Association.

Randolph Hsu

Randolph Hsu joined SIG Capital as a Senior Associate to focus on TMT investments and business incubations. Before entering the venture capital business, he was with NAVER Corporation (previously NHN Corporation), Korea’s premier internet group, where he helped to expand into Greater China area and incubated new business. Randolph was also a legal advisor at DeHeng Law Office (previously China Law Office), one of the largest Chinese law firms, where he was responsible for transaction works such as IPO and PE/VC investment.

Randolph holds a LL.M. degree from Columbia Law School and a Master degree in Economics from Fudan University in Shanghai. He received his bachelor’s degrees in International Business and Law from National Taiwan University.

Bill Russo

Bill Russo is the Shanghai-based Managing Director of Gao Feng Advisory Company and Head of the firm’s Automotive Practice. He has over 30 years of industry experience including 15+ years as an automotive executive, and had been in China since 2004. Mr. Russo has direct experience with opening business in international markets using a life-cycle management approach from strategy formulation through industrialization. As head of Chrysler’s North East Asia business, he successfully negotiated agreements with partners and obtained required approvals from China’s government to bring 6 new vehicle programs to the market in a 3-year period, and established an organizational structure to manage sales/distribution. He brings a unique blend of global business management, management consulting, engineering and operational expertise.
